Knuckle Sandwich has some pretty unconventional status effects that’ll be plaguing your party. If you want a clear explanation of everything you need to know with these status effects, then let me tell you.
What are Status Effects in Knuckle Sandwich?
Status effects in Knuckle Sandwich, like in other games, are temporary debuffs to enemies or characters in your party. They are imposed on a target from an attack, and won’t deal any physical damage but will serve to provide a disadvantage that can turn the tide of battle.
And let me tell you, some of the following status effects are truly awful, so it may be helpful to carry around their cures if you’re entering an area where the enemies love to give you a bad time.

Every Status Effect and how to cure them in Knuckle Sandwich
Below is a list of all the status effects in Knuckle Sandwich and what you can do to cure them.
Shocked
Being shocked is easily the worst status effect to be hit with. When shocked, your attack minigame will be hindered. As though jittery from an electric shock, your attack bar will shudder and twitch at random intervals, making it extremely difficult to time your attacks properly.
The jitters are somewhat predictable, so you can still hit your attacks, although don’t expect to get far. This is the most common status effect I got hit with, which was infuriating, to say the least.
Somehow, Fresh Herbs cure you from being Shocked.
Sick
It isn’t often that an enemy will inflict Sick on you, but it’ll happen. Honestly, I didn’t detect any difference in gameplay when sick. All I believe it does is hinder your attack growth for those combo attacks. Other than that, everything was normal.
If you want to cure being Sick instead of simply outlasting it, you’ll need a Health Drink. I never really came across a Health Drink at all, but honestly, it didn’t matter much.
Cursed
Being Cursed, thankfully, isn’t common, as it is one of the worst status effects. Being Cursed results in you taking a small portion of damage after each attack. This is proportional to your maximum health, so later in the game when you’re nice and leveled up, the Cursed effect will be a little more troublesome when paired with stronger enemies.
I actually took out a boss thanks to it being inflicted with Cursed. I was too busy using items and fighting for my life, all the while its health trickled down. As surprised as I was, I was also very grateful.
If you wish to relieve the curse, simply use a Witch Pamphlet. Be careful, though, as this is an exceedingly rare item to find.
Dizzy
Being Dizzy isn’t all too bad in Knuckle Sandwich. When Dizzy, the attack meters and attack ring will wobble and stretch, making it super hard to time your hits. However, your muscle memory will probably have been developed by the point where enemies will be inflicting this, so it isn’t a huge deal.
If you don’t want to be Dizzy, however, then using a Spinning Top will cure you just fine.
Weird
It took me a long time, but I eventually finally got the Weird status effect thrown at me. When Weird, your characters won’t be able to perform their skills. This is especially annoying if you’ve queued up the use of a skill and become Dizzy. If that happens, you won’t do anything and you’d have skipped a turn. At least they can still attack.
If you’re desperate for your skills, then using a Tiny Token will rid you of your weirdness.
Sleepy
Okay… I’ll be honest with you guys… I have played for many hours and have achieved the 100% completion of Knuckle Sandwich. And I have yet to become Sleepy.
I know, I know — I promised you I’d have all the answers, but I honestly don’t know how to obtain this information anymore. The enemies have decided not to bestow sleepiness in any form upon me, and I can’t do anything about it.
I assume that this acts the same way as being stunned in other games. Sleepy characters probably simply don’t do anything at all.
To cure sleepiness, you’ll need a Brass Bell. I found one of these early on in the game, so you may want to hold onto it if you find it.
When I discover this information, I’ll be sure to update this guide!
