In Ark Survival Ascended, the island isn’t entirely inhabited by creatures that are long gone. The Anglerfish, for example, skulks at the lowest points of the sea. Getting up close to an Anglerfish is very difficult, so you’ll need to be well-prepared.
Where are Anglerfish in Ark Survival Ascended?
Like in real life, the Anglerfish in Ark Survival Ascended prefer very deep oceans. You’ll often see their lures before their black and beady eyes. Small and vicious, they will attack upon sight, only retreating for a short time before coming back for the attack.
On The Island map, currently the only map available on Ark Survival Ascended, Anglerfish spawn on the edges of the map at the bottom of the ocean. You will need SCUBA gear and good weaponry, for it’s not just the Anglerfish that you’ll be spotting down there, but the Megalodons, too. I would go to the very edge of the map on the surface of the water before diving deep down.

How to tame an Anglerfish in Ark Survival Ascended
If you want to tame one of these abominations in Ark Survival Ascended, then you’ll need to do it the classic knock-out way. You’d better hope no Megalodons decide to interrupt your processes here, or you’ll be in deep trouble.
Once you’ve found the Anglerfish that you want to tame, it shouldn’t need too much convincing to come closer to you. As you’re underwater, using tranquilizer spear bolts and the Harpoon Launcher is your best bet to knock it unconscious quickly. You can use the wooden club if you wish, but too long down there will result in your death.
Once you’ve got the thing unconscious, you can feed it raw and cooked meat, or even regular kibble. Even with regular kibble, you’ll be waiting at least 6 minutes for the taming bar to fill, so you may have to leave the Anglerfish and come back once it’s done taming.
I hope this guide has been useful, fellow survivor, and that you’ll be face-to-face with your first Anglerfish in no time. For more Ark Survival Ascended help, visit PC Invasion.
