Brink’s Creative Director, Richard Ham, talks about the future of the FPS genre.
In an interview with IncGamers, Brink and Splash Damage’s Richard Ham, says that the future of the FPS lay in ‘finding new ways to get players connected with each other’.
He continued by saying that Splash Damage are a company ‘looking for ways to make people’s lives better basically, and since human beings are at heart social animals, sharing experiences with friends and even strangers adds so much more depth and meaning.
‘We basically want to take video games away from the path they’ve been moving on over the last 30 years towards more and more solitary experiences. Instead, we want games to bring people together.’
Ham’s comments echo the general ‘social’ vibe we picked up on when we got to play the game ourselves a few weeks ago. Our hands-on impressions can be read here.
