Spider-Man 2: Best combos to learn

You’ll quickly learn in Spiderman 2 that there are many unique combat maneuvers you can pull off. They’re also a lot easier to perform than you think, and it’s fun to experiment! Once you learn the basics, alongside the perfect dodge move, you’re good to learn some combos. Let me explain some of the easier ground combos, and then some more advanced air moves to pull off.

Spider-Man 2 best ground combos

Before you start playing around with air combos, let’s begin on the ground. There are plenty of moves you can perform that may surprise you.

  • Basic ground combo: x4 Square
    • A simple fight combo that’ll send enemies flying backwards.
  • Off Wall: Circle (near a wall), Square
    • Leap onto a nearby wall, then kick off and hit an enemy.
  • Leap off: Square, Cross
    • Punch and enemy, then leap off of them into the air.
  • Throw: Hold Triangle (nearby enemy)
    • Launches a nearby enemy off of you.
  • Dodge under: Square or Triangle, Circle
    • Hit an enemy, then dodge under the enemy’s legs to go behind them.
  • Long dodge: Circle, Cross
    • Dodge and then jump to make an even wider dodge in the air.
  • Web whip: Hold Triangle, R1
    • Yanks an enemy’s weapon from them, then you hit it back at them like a whip.

Now that you’ve mastered the ground combos, there are tons of other useful air combos to tackle as well. These can all be done with enemies in the air if you hold the Square button to throw them upwards.

  • Air launch: Hold Square, x4 Square
    • Punch an enemy into the air, then hit the Square button four times to jump into the air and throw some hits.
  • Pull and launch: Hold Triangle, hold Square
    • Pulls a far enemy close to you, then launches them into the air.
  • Air throw: Hold Triangle (nearby enemy in air)
    • Throws an enemy to the ground as you’re in the air with them.
  • Ground strike: Square and Cross (in air)
    • Slam into the ground with powerful force.
  • Swing kick: Hold Square (in air)
    • Swing and kick a nearby enemy in the air.
  • Air leap off: Cross (in air)
    • Leap off an enemy’s body mid-air.
