What Every Power Up Does in Super Mario Bros Wonder? Explained

Now that Super Mario Bros. Wonder is being touted by players and reviewers as one of the best 2D platformers in recent memory, and for good reason. It’s great.

As one would expect from a new Mario game, Wonder is filled with a whole new slate of fun and quirky power-ups. I’m going to break them all down.

All Power Up’s in Super Mario Bros. Wonder Explained

Wonder is packed with some of the classic power up’s found throughout the history of the frachise, and they’ve also added some new ones specific to Wonder that fans are overjoyed with, as they add yet whole new dimensions to the game.

All the power up’s in Super Mario Bros. Wonder are below.

  • Super Mario
    • The classic Mario power up, simply makes Mario bigger and has an extra hit point
  • Fire Flower
    • Mario is able to shoot fire with his hands
  • Invincible
    • As the name suggests, you’ll become invincible for a short period of time
  • Elephant
    • You will turn into an elephant, with an adorable tusk and all
  • Bubble
    • Similar to the Fire Flower, you’ll instead shoot bubbles now
  • Drill
    • You’ll be able to drill underground to avoid certain attacks to maneuver easier
  • Wonder Flower
    • The signature power-up for Wonder can be one of twelve power up’s for whoever eats it and will vary from turning into a Goomba, to a whole assortment of wacky outcomes

While we aren’t too sure if these power up’s are going to be featured in other Mario titles in the future, they fit perfectly within the colorful and strange world that is Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
