With the original game’s success, we’re getting a new sequel, Detective Pikachu Returns, and fans of the original will want to pre-order the game to ensure they can grab a copy. Nowadays, most games feature a set of pre-order bonuses, which gives players some exclusive rewards for pre-ordering the game early. The sequel will see you return to Ryme City with the same swaggy, brutish Pikachu that helped you through the last game. Pre-order bonuses for Detective Pikachu Returns

Unfortunately, for those who have pre-ordered the US or other versions of Detective Pikachu Returns, there aren’t actually any pre-order bonuses to look forward to. The game, releasing on October 6, won’t be offering players any sort of pre-order DLC or physical goodies if you pre-ordered the game, so you’re sadly out of luck if you’re expecting some sort of pre-order prize. This is in contrast to other Pokemon games that often provide a bounty of pre-order rewards, such as in-game items, cosmetics, or free Pokemon.

If you happened to pre-order the game through Pokemon Center Japan, there is actually a special Pokemon card that players will receive as a pre-order bonus. This card pictures Detective Pikachu riding a Growlithe, as well as a special Detective Pikachu figurine. Unfortunately, this bonus was only available to those who ordered from Pokemon Center Japan.

Detective Pikachu Returns launches on October 6 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
