With 6.5, the last trial of Endwalker is out, and that means the completion of the Endwalker Trial mounts. What is the bonus mount, and how do you get it? Here’s how to get the Apocryphal Bahamut mount in FFXIV.
Apocryphal Bahamut – The Lynx bonus mount guide
For those unaware, for every expansion, there is a mechanic where the Extreme version of every trial drops a variant of a themed mount. Get all of those mounts on a single character, and you’ll unlock a sidequest to get one more mount for your troubles. For A Realm Reborn, you had to collect the Primal-themed horses in order to get a kirin. In Heavensward, it was lanner birds that gave you a Phoenix. Stormblood had kamuys, or wolves, making a final mount of a kitsune, and Shadowbringers had small dragons called gwibers that gave a mecha dragon.
Now in the Endwalker era, each Trial drops a lynx. What do you get for collecting all the lynxes? A dragon!
It makes about as much sense to you as it does me.
How to get Apocryphal Bahamut- the setup
In order to get this mount, you need to have every Lynx registered. That means you must have the Extreme version of every Endwalker Trial unlocked by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Sharlayan at (12.7, 14.3), and have farmed each one until the lynx whistle dropped, and then won the loot roll. If you can’t win the roll, you can also exchange if you have 99 tokens from the respective Trial at Nesvaaz in Radz-at-Han (10.6, 10). In short, it takes a LOT of time to get every lynx mount.

- Lynx of Divine Light: The Minstrel’s Ballad: Hydaelyn’s Call
- Lynx of Eternal Darkness: The Minstrel’s Ballad: Zodiark’s Fall
- Lynx of Fallen Shadow: The Voidcast Dais (Extreme)
- Lynx of Imperious Winds: The Storm’s Call (Extreme)
- Lynx of Righteous Fire: Mount Ordeals (Extreme)
- Lynx of Abyssal Grief: The Abyssal Fracture (Extreme)
For a total of seven lynxes. Got all that? Let’s proceed.
Obtaining Apocryphal Bahamut
The quest starts with Singingway in Old Sharlayan at (12, 10). From there, it’s a short little quest with the Loporrit that’s just cutscenes and dialogue. At the end of it, you’ll receive the mount from the quest completion and be able to register Apocryphal Bahamut.
And with that, you did it! After agonizing hours of farming, you have yet another dragon mount! Woohoo for herding cats!
