Lae’zel is a recruitable companion who’s a Githyanki Fighter. This may seem like a boring class, but that’s far from the truth. My high-leveled Lae’zel dominates the battlefield and can perform multiple attacks in one turn.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Best Battle Master Fighter Lae’zel build

In my build, I’ve kept Lae’zel as a Fighter and decided not to multiclass. This is because by level 12, she can perform multiple attacks per turn and deal massive damage to enemies. If you want your high-level Lae’zel to be unstoppable, here’s the best Fighter Lae’zel build in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Best Fighter subclass for Lae’zel in BG3

The reason why Battle Master is the best Fighter subclass for Lae’zel is due to the Superiority Dice and the Maneuvers. These features allow you to perform helpful moves during combat that either aid you and your teammates or harm your enemies. Once she reaches high enough levels, Lae’zel can perform multiple unique Maneuvers and deadly attacks.

Best Feats for Lae’zel in BG3

The amazing thing about Fighters is the ability to have four feats at once. This allowed me to increase Lae’zel’s STR and CON by two points, and give her two amazing feats. While Sentinel and Tough are amazing, you can always try Savage Attacker, Mage Slayer, or Great Weapon Master.

Sentinel allows Lae’zel to attack enemies when in range of allies, as well as stop enemies from running away. Tough is another great one, as it heavily increases Lae’zel’s HP maximum by level 12.

Savage Attacker is another Feat I highly recommend if you want her to have a third one instead of Ability Score Improvement. This allows you to roll her damage dice twice to take the highest result when melee attacking.

Mage Slayer can help give Lae’zel Advantage on saving throws on spells within melee range, while Great Weapon Master gives her an extra attack if she downs an enemy or lands a Critical Hit. Overall, Sentinel, Tough, and Savage Attacker are the best of the group.

Best weapons and armor for Lae’zel in BG3

I highly recommend giving Lae’zel a two-handed Heavy weapon, especially for the Great Weapon Fighting Style. It really depends on her Fighting Style for what weapon you give her so she can take advantage of the bonuses. But these weapons also deal incredible damage. Here are the best weapon choices for this Lae’zel build:

  • Silver Sword of the Astral Plane: As a Githyanki, Lae’zel gains benefits like extra Psychic damage and Advantage on INT, WIS, and CHA saving throws, Psychic resistance, and immunity to being Charmed.
  • Balduran’s Giantslayer: Double damage from STR modifier, and gain Advantage on attack rolls against large/huge/gargantuan enemies.
  • Sword of Chaos: Deal extra Necrotic damage and regain 1d6 HP on any hit.
  • Halberd of Vigilance: Gain +1 Initiative bonus and Advantage on Perceptions checks. Also get Advantage on attack roll reactions.
  • Soulbreaker Greatsword: Also benefits from extra Psychic damage as a Githyanki, and gain +2 bonus to Initiative rolls.

On the topic of armor, you’ll want to put her in Heavy Armor. I recommend this because it gives her the highest AC, and you don’t get many classes that are Proficient with this type of armor. Once you get into the late-game, there are some incredible Heavy Armor available:

  • Flawed Helldusk Armor (AC 18): Deal 1d4 Fire damage when hit by an enemy within range, and take one less Piercing damage.
  • Reaper’s Embrace (AC 19): Reduces all incoming damage by two, gain Howl of the Dead Cantrip, and Reaper’s Rigidity toggleable passive.
  • Helldusk Armor (AC 21): Caster receives Burning condition if you succeed a saving throw, you gain Fire resistance and cannot be Burned, and gain ability to Fly.
  • Blackguard’s Plate: (AC 19): All incoming damage is reduced by one, and gain Advantage on WIS saving throws.

Now that you know how to properly build Lae’zel, you should check out our build guide for Minsc, who you can recruit during Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3!
