How to get Bombirdier in Pokemon Go – Can it be Shiny?

You want a Shiny one? Good luck with that!

If you’ve played Pokemon Scarlet or Violet, you may be familiar with Bombirdier. This Pokemon is one of the Titans in those titles, and considering all the Paldean creatures that have arrived in Go, it’s no surprise Trainers want to get hold of one. If you’ve been playing since Gen 9 Pokemon were added to Pokemon Go, you may have noticed that Bombirdier is nowhere to be found. But fear not; that’s about to change. Let me show you how to get Bombirdier in Pokemon Go and if it can be Shiny.

How to get Bombirdier in Pokemon Go – Can it be Shiny?

At the time of writing, Bombirdier isn’t available, but you won’t have to wait long to get one. Bombirdier will be revealed during the Ultra Unlock: Paldea event, which runs between September 10, 2023, and September 15, 2023. Bombirdier will feature in 3 Star Raids along with Kleavor and Turtonator during the event.

Can Bombirdier be Shiny in Pokemon Go?

Every Bombirdier you catch has a small chance of being Shiny. The odds are stacked against Trainers here, as you only have a roughly 1.6% chance of coming across one. You’ll have to get extremely lucky to catch a Shiny Bombirdier, but Raid rates are still better than wild spawns with their meager 0.2%.

Are any other Raid Pokemon available during the Ultra Unlock: Paldea event?

The full lineup for Raid Pokemon is as follows:

One-Star Raids

  • Unown A
  • Unown D
  • Unown E
  • Unown L
  • Unown P

Three-Star Raids

  • Turtonator
  • Kleavor
  • Bombirdier

Five-Star Raids

  • Kartana
  • Celesteela

The Five Star raids are unique as they are available at different times depending on your location. From September 1 to September 8, Trainers in the North Hemisphere will find Kartana Raids, and Trainers in the South will find Celesteela. These locations swap from September 9 until September 16. On top of the Raids, some Wild Pokemon spawns have been adjusted. If you’re after the Paldean Starters, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, they are much more common during the event.

What if I miss Bombirdier during the Ultra Unlock: Paldea event?

Niantic often locks new Pokemon behind time-limited events, but they usually come back after a short while. We can’t say when Bombardier will return or in what capacity, but the Ultra Unlock: Paldea event won’t be the only time Bombirdier is available.

The addition of Gen 9 Pokemon has seen many Trainers returning to Pokemon Go. Depending on how long you’ve been away, you may be unaware of some newer additions to the game. If you’re unsure what Gold Pokestops do, check out our guide.
