There are many secret locations accross Faerun in Baldur’s Gate 3 that are difficult to find. You’ll need to find one of these locations for some important quests. At first glance, Candulhallow’s Tombstones looks like an innocent Tombstone shop, but there’s a dark secret beneath the building. Let me explain how to enter Candulhallow’s Tombstones in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Candulhallow’s Tombstones secret entrance
This building is in the northeastern region of the Lower City outside of Baldur’s Gate. If you’re looking to find the Murder Tribunal, it says to look at this shop, but it’s nowhere in sight. How you can enter Candulhallow’s Tombstones in Baldur’s Gate 3 is through a secret entrance behind a bookshelf.
Late into Act Three, there may be multiple reasons for you to come to this shop. Either you’re investigating the Open Hand Temple murders, or perhaps you want to impress the Murder Tribunal to become an Unholy Assassin.
Walk northwest from the Basilisk Gate waypoint, and you’ll find this tiny shop. Use Thieves’ Tools to get through the locked front door. Inside it looks like the shopkeeper abandoned the place, or it’s just closed for the day. There doesn’t seem to be any doorways in sight either, nor hatches on the ground.
It’s pretty difficult to find the secret entrance to the Bhaalist Crypt, as it’s hiding very well. Head to the office room at the far back, and move the beautiful skull painting off from the wall. Either add it to your inventory, or simply drag and drop the item off the wall. There’s a button hidden behind the painting.
Just hit the button, and the bookshelf behind you will start moving, revealing a hidden door. The entrance to the Bhaalist Crypt is just below. Head down to discover more about the Bhaalist murder plot, or to simply prove yourself as a worthy Unholy Assassin.
