If you’re looking to obtain the Emperor of Fire and Iron’s unique boss materials, you’ll want to learn the best methods in taking this monster down. Here’s our Genshin Impact guide on the Emperor of Fire and Iron world boss in Fontaine.
Where to find the Emperor of Fire and Iron world boss in Genshin Impact
This boss is in a bit of a tricky location, as you’ll need to venture underwater and find a hidden passage to access this boss. First, teleport to the Teleport Waypoint south of the West Slopes of Mont Automenqui, which should be located right next to the beach. Jump into the water at approximately this location:
When you get to this location, dive underwater. You should see an opening to a tunnel that will lead you to an underground cavern where the boss will be located.
Once you reach the end of the tunnel, you can surface and enter the cavern. There will be a Teleport Waypoint waiting for you with the boss in the distance.
Emperor of Fire and Iron Genshin Impact boss guide
This boss’ unique mechanic is a strong Pyro shield that protects him from incoming damage. You can dissipate it with traditional Hydro attacks, either, thanks to a rocky outer shell that covers his body. To beat this boss, you’ll need to aim for the Pyro core outlined below with Hydro attacks, which will dwindle his Pyro shield down. Once the shield depletes, the boss will become incapacitated, allowing you to deal immense damage and take him down.
Many of this boss’ attacks are Pyro themed, including one attack where he spews magma at random locations around you. Dodge his attacks and wait to trigger this move where the Emperor of Fire and Iron burrows into the ground, charging up an intense Pyro attack. During this phase, his core will be easily exposed, giving you an easy opportunity to damage it with Hydro attacks. Most regular Hydro attacks should also strike the core during this phase, so you don’t have to limit yourself to Hydro bow characters.
Recommended characters
While any Hydro characters will work, thanks to the phase where the boss burrows into the ground, you’ll get the best mileage by taking advantage of Hydro bow users. This is because they can aim at the core at any point throughout the fight, instead of waiting for it to burrow into the ground. This means characters like Yelan or Tartaglia will give you the best results. Catalyst Hydro characters like Mona, Kokomi, or Barbara shouldn’t have any issues destroying the core, either. But really, any Hydro characters will work.
Note: This boss does have an innate 60% resistance to Pyro attacks, so it’s recommended to bring non-Vaporize teams to this fight. Hyperbloom teams work great, meaning a team like Alhaitham, Nahida, Yelan, and Kuki Shinobu will allow you to quickly defeat the boss after destroying its Pyro shield.
