Gamescom promised two hours of game announcements and updates to upcoming games. One exciting announcement was a pretty gruesome trailer for Killing Floor 3 that Tripwire Interactive revealed at Gamescom 2023. This is the third installment to its survival horror first-person shooter franchise. It’s been around seven years since the last Killing Floor, and fans of the franchise will be happy to know Killing Floor 3 is coming in the near future.
Trailer for Killing Floor 3 revealed at Gamescom 2023 showcases gruesome combat and cutscenes
Although the trailer was short, it gave fans a good glimpse of what to expect in the upcoming Killing Floor 3. The franchise began in 2009, with the second installment releasing in 2016. Developed by Tripwire Interactive, Killing Floor is a first-person shooter and a co-op survival horror game.
In the description for the YouTube trailer, it’s apparently set in the year 2091, and a megacorp Horzine has created a terrifying army. Obedient bioengineered monsters, called Zeds, are taking over. The rebel group Nightfall is fighting back against these gruesome creations for the future of humanity.
The description also confirmed that you can join forces with up to five other teammates. You and your friends can battle against waves of Zeds in co-op gameplay. It also explains that you can earn dosh, unlock skills, and build your ultimate arsenal. This probably alludes to skill trees to create unique builds.
The monsters in the trailer had wild mechanical limbs to crush and slice you to death. They’re quite terrifying, especially in current-gen graphics. If you were a fan of the last two games, Killing Floor 3 will probably be right up your alley.
Although no release date showed up in the trailer, we do know you can wishlist it. Killing Floor 3 will release on Steam, Epic Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S sometime in the future.
