Raids in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are one of the ways the game keeps some longevity for its player base. New raids are added every so often, with some even reoccurring over the course of the game’s lifespan. These raids sometimes introduce new Pokémon to the game, like the final evolution versions of various starters from previous games. This can be a great reason to return to the games. One of these raid events is the Blissey raid event that grants you a way of easily grinding for Tera Shards that you might need to change the Tera Type of your Pokémon. The Blissey evolution line is a well-known Pokémon species for various reasons, but one of its more known traits is its massive health pool and bulky defensive capabilities. Luckily, Chansey and Blissey only specialize in a singular type of defense, meaning you can bring a Pokémon that specializes in the opposite attack stat and easily get through these raids.

Blissey is a Pokémon that specializes in Special Defense, meaning you’ll want to bring a physical attacker along with you to take down Blissey with little issue. Blissey in particular has a whopping 135 base Special Defense and a staggering 255 base HP, meaning it can take quite a few hits. Luckily, it only has a base 10 defense, making it a very easy target for physically attacking mons.

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet five star Blissey raid comes in a variety of Tera Types, so you’ll need to prepare a few different physically attacking Pokémon who have a wide type variety. Blissey’s moves only feature two attacking moves, one of which is Seismic Toss, meaning that any type you use will be fine here, as that move deals a guaranteed number based on the opponent’s level and doesn’t have type effectiveness. It also has Last Resort as an option for offense too, but it at most deals minimal damage due to Blissey’s base 10 Attack. Here’s Blissey’s moveset in full:

Due to Blissey’s raid featuring various Tera Types in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, suggesting a singular build to counter its certain weaknesses is hard to do, but you should be able to find a build that’s suitable pretty easily. I for example use my Kingambit against it due to Kingambit’s great Attack and decent type coverage across Dark, Steel, Fighting, and Ghost-types. Another great Pokémon for this is someone like Annihilape or Gallade, who also have great Attack stats and can also cover a wide variety of moves with access to the elemental punches like Fire Punch and Ice Punch, along with access to Earthquake and other moves like Annihilape getting access to Seed Bomb. Essentially, just aim for a physically attacking Pokémon who has good type coverage for whatever Tera Type you’re up against.
