Along the release of Season 1 for Diablo 4 came brand new updates with a slew of criticisms. While certain classes got heavy buffs, Blizzard left others astray like Barbarians and Sorcerers. This disappointed many Diablo 4 fans, but Blizzard intended to listen. In the Diablo 4 patch 1.1.1 released on August 8, Barbarians and Sorcerers are saved thanks to some generous buffs.
Diablo 4 patch 1.1.1 saved Barbarians and Sorcerers thanks to many generous buffs
After promising to buff Barbarians and Sorcerers a few weeks ago, Blizzard came through with patch 1.1.1. At the top of the Diablo 4 patch notes page, you can tell that its main goal was to focus on improving these two classes.
For Barbarians, Blizzard aims to speed up the flow of combat during the early game. This is through increasing Fury generation on Basic Skills. Also, it increased the power on Unique items for the endgame. This patch improved Sorcerers’ late-game survivability through the Paragon Board. Also, it adjusted certain class mechanics to move away from ‘Kiss-Curse’ effects. This happens when the player earns power in one area, but loses power somewhere else.
Looking at the technicalities, Blizzard indeed made most improvements towards these two classes. It buffed three different Unique items for Barbarians, but heavily improved many Skills and Aspects. On the flip side, Sorcerers got most improvements in their Paragon Board Nodes and Glyphs, alongside plenty of Aspect upgrades. There were less buffs for their Skills, and a little less for Passives.
Comparatively, other classes still received some buffs. Rogues has a few improvements to their Skills, while Druids got even more. Blizzard focused more on Necromancers’ Legendary Aspects. Overall, these buffs definitely seem like they’ll make Barbarians and Sorcerers more enjoyable during Season of the Malignant. It also doesn’t look like there are many nerfs, if at all. Now, we just have to wait for player feedback.
