The one thing you may not realize about this quest is the fact that you can only do it during a certain time of day. Where you can find the light fixtures in Dave the Diver is at night in the Giant Blue Hole, around 15-20 meters deep. They really aren’t too difficult to find because they’re in the shallow parts of this area.

Where I made a mistake was when I was trying to look for the lit-up lights. The problem is that the lights aren’t actually working yet. Swim around that depth until you spot a yellow generator. It’s much easier to find than the fallen-over light fixtures. Once Dave takes notice of them, you’ll need to interact with the two lights to prop them up. Then, connect them to the generator by carrying the power cord over with your gloved hands.

Finally, set the bait, and wait behind the pile of rocks to the right of the generator. Eventually, you’ll see the Manta Ray in the distance, coming towards the lights. To take a picture of the Manta Ray, you’ll need to swim very slowly towards the photographing spot. Then, wait until you get the Manta Ray in frame and illuminated, and snap the photo! Udo will thank you, and you can now return to that spot to take more photos during your night diving.
