The Custodian’s Eye is a boss players can find on N’Erud in the Spectrum Nexus in Remnant 2. If you’ve encountered this boss you may have noticed that it’s a pretty tough fight. It has some more complex mechanics than a few of the other fights in the game. And if N’Erud is your first world, it may seem like a sharp jump in difficulty. Luckily this fight isn’t too bad when you know what to look out for. So, here’s how you can beat the Custodian’s Eye in Remnant 2.
Remnant 2: How to beat the Custodian’s Eye
The Custodian’s Eye is a straightforward encounter at first. Its weak spot is the center eye and that’s honestly a bit of a design flaw that the N’Erudians should have thought about. It works perfectly for us though as the center eye is an easy target to attack. Unfortunately, the fight isn’t as simple as just shooting this eye as there are a lot of hazards to look out for.
For starters, the Custodian’s Eye will usually start the fight by blasting a purple laser beam at you. This beam leaves a trail on the floor that does a lot of damage if you touch it. So, steer clear of this beam. Ironically, this is the best time to attack the Custodian’s Eye since shooting it in the center will deal almost double the amount of damage you’d usually do. Whenever it does this attack, make sure you’re attacking the center eye as well.
The next few phases are where you should focus on avoiding the boss’ attacks. The first to look out for is the laser beam that it shoots out horizontally across the arena. Pillars will shoot up from the ground to provide you with some cover, but these will disappear and reappear elsewhere, so keep an eye out. This boss will also spawn five tiny robots that fly around the arena. These can deal a fair bit of damage and easily distract you so take them out as soon as possible.
The next attack is where the floor will drop out from the center of the arena. You’ll know this is about to happen when the platforms shoot out a red light from their center. Just head to the exterior of the arena to avoid this. Then you’ll see a three-pronged laser beam shoot out from the Custodian’s eye. All you need to do here is jump from platform to platform while staying in between the lasers.
That’s about all you need to know for the Custodian’s Eye. If you got a friend, playing this fight in co-op becomes much easier. The purple laser beam attack only targets one player at a time, so the other can focus on damage. And two or three players can make short work of the tiny robots that appear. So, if you can pair up with someone, be sure to do that.
