The Sims 4 Horse Ranch: Where to get horses

As soon as you’ve purchased and downloaded the Expansion Pack, you should be able to get horses. How you can get a horse in The Sims 4: Horse Ranch is either by purchasing or rescuing one through a computer, horse bed, or the Equestrian Center in Chestnut Ridge.

Basically every Expansion Pack comes with a brand new world, and for Horse Ranch it’s Chestnut Ridge. One of the neighborhoods called New Appaloosa has an Equestrian Center. Simply make your Sim travel to any of the lots in this neighborhood, then interact with the large building with a blue roof. You should then see two options to either purchase a horse for 1,000 Simoleons, or rescue one for 250.

You can also purchase or rescue one through interacting with a horse bed, or from any computer. On a computer, select ‘Household’, then select ‘Adopt’. You’ll then notice two options for purchasing and rescuing horses. If you decide to purchase one, an array of horse options will appear detailing their age, sex, and traits. Rescuing will give you options as well, and may seem like the more reasonable option.

Rescuing a horse is a little more difficult than you may realize. Since they’re rescued animals, they’ll be a little harder to take care of than if you purchased one. Basically, these horses will have less sought-after traits. But if you don’t have the money, rescuing is the way to go. Once you make your decision, the horse will show up as a member of your household, and isn’t controllable, similar to cats and dogs.

The Sims 4: Horse Ranch is available on EA and Steam.
