How to level the Diablo 4 Season 1 battle pass

The only way to level up the Diablo 4 battle pass is to use Favors. You also need to create a Seasonal Realm character and play through the seasonal content.

You earn Favors by doing normal Diablo 4 stuff — slaying monsters, completing Quests, and finishing Chapters. On top of that, you’ll earn Favors by completing objectives on the Season Journey. As you earn Favors, you’ll use them to unlock the Diablo 4 Season 1 battle pass rewards.

Since the fastest way to level the battle pass in Diablo 4 is to earn Favors, you’ll want to know the best ways to get Favors fast. I recommend synergizing your time spent playing Diablo 4 by lining up the completion of seasonal Quests, Chapters, and the Season Journey.

You’ll earn Smaller Favors by completing Season Journey objectives, but those shouldn’t be ignored as they add up quickly and help you boost through the Diablo 4 Season 1 battle pass. You can easily complete the Season Journey objectives while playing through the Diablo 4 Season 1 story. Keep an eye out for ways to complete your objectives as you earn Greater Favors by progressing through the Season of the Malignant story Quests and Chapters.

The Season Journey is a seven-page reward tracker that has objectives that get progressively harder, but consistently reward Favors. The Season Journey is your main way of leveling up the battle pass in Diablo 4 Season 1, and you can only access the seven new Legendary Aspects by progressing through the Season Journey.

To make your character even stronger and more capable of rushing through the battle pass in Diablo 4 Season 1, you need to use Season Blessings. The free track, and the paid track, of the Diablo 4 Season 1 battle pass rewards you with Smoldering Ashes which can be used to unlock Season Blessings.

Besides the Urn of Aggression which gives you more XP from killing monsters, the Season Blessings don’t really help you level up through the battle pass faster. Instead, they offer buffs that last all season long which work to make your character stronger. At the end of the season, the buffs will be removed and your character will slide over to the Eternal Realm.

And that is everything you need to know about leveling the battle pass and unlocking the battle pass rewards in Diablo 4 Season 1. If you’re wondering what happened to your Renown after starting a Seasonal Realm character, check out our explainer guide on all progress that transfers over.
