How to get Barbarian Armor in Tears of the Kingdom (Totk)

Let Link show off his wild side.

The Barbarian armor set is one of the best you can find in Tears of the Kingdom. It provides Link with an Attack Up bonus that increases his damage. And this is extremely useful against some of the stronger enemies in the game. Luckily this is also an armor set that you can get early in the game if you know where to look. So, here’s how to get the Barbarian armor in Tears of the Kingdom.

Barbarian Helm

The Barbarian Helm is located in Dropoff Cave just southeast of Kakariko Village. It’s a small cave located right at the bottom of the valley. Check the map below for this cave’s exact location since it can be easy to miss.

This cave has an interesting little puzzle to solve. Inside you’ll notice that there are some statues dotted around the place. Put some are looking in specific directions while others are placed in more random spots. The trick here is to follow the gaze of the statues. Do this until you reach a room with breakable rock on the ground and then break through to the floor below. Then proceed through until you find a room with different groups of statues. Here, you need to ascend through the ceiling underneath the three statues on the right. Once you’ve done that, you’ll find the chest containing the Barbarian Helm.

Barbarian Armor

The chest piece for the Barbarian set is a bit easier to grab. For this, we’re heading to Crenel Hills Cave which is just to the east of Hyrule Castle. Check the map below for the exact location of the cave.

Once you get to Crenel Hills Cave, you’ll find that this location is essentially one big room. Watch out because a Stone Talus dwells here and it can be a tough fight in the early game. Use your bow to shoot at its weak spot on top and then climb up and whack it until it’s beaten. Once your done, look to the back of the cave where you’ll see a Luminous Stone ore vein on the wall. You’re going to need to break through this to reach the chest containing the Barbarian Armor.

Barbarian Leg Wraps

The Barbarian Leg Wraps are found in Walnot Mountain Cave. This is located right outside Hateno Village to the east. In fact, the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab overlooks it. So you can just glide down from there and reach the cave pretty easily.

The trouble with this cave is that it has a lot of nasty enemies. Several Horriblins lurk in the cave and an Ice Like is perched on the ceiling about halfway through. It’s honestly a bit strange that a cave this dangerous is so close to Hateno Village, but I’m sure Link will clear it out in his own time so don’t worry about it. That Ice Like I mentioned is actually going to help us here since it marks where the chest for the Barbarian Leg Wraps can be found. This chest is located in a small alcove behind the Ice Like, so just jump over and grab it.

After that, you’ll have all three pieces of the Barbarian Armor. But its attack rating can only help you out in fights so much. So once you’ve collected every piece of the Barbarian set in Tears of the Kingdom, get to work upgrading it as soon as you can. Once you’ve got some upgrades on it, Link will become a pretty strong hero.
