Diablo 4 Season 3, like all the seasons before and after it, brings buffs, nerfs, and general changes to every class. Since you have to create a new character to enjoy Diablo 4 Season of the Construct, here are all the classes ranked best to worst.
Because of the buffs, nerfs, and general changes established at the start of Season 3, the best classes and builds have changed drastically. Let’s dive right into the tier list so you can decide which class is best in Diablo 4 Season 3.
We’ve got all the new Uniques coming to Diablo 4 Season 3 right here for your reading pleasure.
What’s the best class in Diablo 4 Season of the Construct?
Before I dive into the Diablo 4 class and build tier list, for those of you looking for a quick answer, the best class in Diablo 4 Season 3 after all the buffs and nerfs is Barbarian. At the start of Diablo 4, Barbarians were the worst class in the game. Now, especially with the help of the Seneschal Companion, Barbarians are the best class.
Numerous meta builds got major nerfs in Diablo 4 Season 3 which makes Rogues and Sorcerers, in particular, less viable builds. However, every class is still good in Season of the Construct, it’s just specific builds that carried classes in the past won’t be as strong.
1. Barbarian
Barbarians are the best class in Diablo 4 Season 3 because of the buffs made to Charge, Hammer of the Ancients, and Upheaval. Whirlwind isn’t as powerful as it was, but many other viable builds for Barbarians weren’t worth it before.
Barbarians have the best survivability in Diablo 4 Season 3. Their overall speed has been buffed thanks to Charge getting buffed. They have the strongest endgame builds compared to every other class. The only issue with Barbarians is they aren’t the easiest class for casual players to enjoy because they level up very slowly.
You can always check in with our guide to the best Barbarian leveling builds for Diablo 4 Season 3.
What are the best Barbarian builds in Diablo 4 Season 3?
- Charge
- Hammer of the Ancients
- Upheaval
- Rend
- Whirlwind
In Season of the Construct, Barbarians can enjoy success with Charge, Hammer of the Ancients, and Upheaval builds. Even if you’ve played Barbarian in the past, it’s a great time to return because Whirlwind isn’t the only viable build.
I’ve never played Barbarian, and I think this is the season that I jump in. I’m excited to try out Charge and Upheaval builds particularly and can’t wait to see how Barbarians have improved.
2. Sorcerer
Sorcerers have gone from the best class in the game to the worst, and now in Season 3, Sorcerers are in their most balanced spot. Ball Lightning, their best build, got nerfed to the ground, but besides that, they are still very strong.
Sorcerers are great because they level very quickly and are a very fast class which helps with survivability. In general, Sorcerers still struggle with survivability, especially near the endgame. In endgame, there isn’t one build that will dominate, but they have a lot of healthy builds to work with which makes them enjoyable for casuals, too.
Of course, we’ve also got a guide on the best Sorcerer leveling builds in Diablo 4 Season 3.
What are the best Sorcerer builds in Diablo 4 Season 3?
- Chain Lightning
- Ice Shards
- Fire Wall
- Ball Lightning
Ball Lightning isn’t the powerhouse it used to be, but there are a lot of builds that work well for Sorcerers. Of course, Chain Lightning, Ice Shards, and Fire Wall are all good options, and Ball Lightning might not be terrible, especially when leveling.
I played Sorcerer in Diablo 4 Season 2 and had a great time with them. A lot of writers at PC Invasion played Sorcerer and found them to be really strong, but hard to play, especially in the endgame. Sorcerers require detailed builds that maximize the right buffs at the right times to be viable, but their easy playstyle and versatile builds are what make them fun.
3. Necromancer
Necromancers have either been at the back of the pack or right in the middle. In Season 3, Necromancers return to being right in the middle. Bone Spear and Blood Lance continue to carry Necromancers and Bone Spirit received buffs that could make for viable builds.
Where Necromancers continue to shine is in leveling — they are the best class for that. For overall speed, Necromancers are the worst even with Blood Mist. In the end game, Necromancers don’t have too many outstanding builds, especially because Bone Spear and Blood Lance continue to be the only two builds that matter.

What are the best Necromancer builds in Diablo 4 Season 3?
- Bone Spear
- Blood Lance
- Bone Spirit
- Sever
- Summoner
Bone Spear and Blood Lance still dominate as the best builds for Necromancers. The only interesting development here is Bone Spirit received buffs which could make for a fun new build.
Necromancer is the first class I played to get through the campaign of the launch version of Diablo 4. While playing, I found my Blood Lance Necromancer build to be very strong and fun, and that build is even better now. I hope Blizzard iterates more with Necromancers in the future to give them one season where they are on top, but it isn’t going to be Season 3.
4. Rogue
Rogues have been one of the better classes since the beginning of Diablo 4. Season 3 is where they see their first dip. The reason for this is because of the nerf to Twisting Blades and poison interactions. Instead of melee being the way to go with Rogues, ranged builds are getting a big buff.
All in all, Rogues are still tough to play as they require more skill and attention to detail, but your time invested in becoming a good Rogue will pay off as they’re still strong. I recommend diving into ranged builds like Penetrating Shot and Barrage over melee builds Twisting Blades because of the changes.
Read our guide on the best Rogue leveling builds for more.
What are the best Rogue builds in Diablo 4 Season 3?
- Penetrating Shot
- Barrage
- Twisting Blades
- Death Trap
- Flurry
Twisting Blades was the best build for Rogues for a long time, and it’s now time to switch things up. This makes Rogues even harder to play, which is saying a lot, but they are still fun for players who like a technical challenge.
As always, you should play the build you think is the most fun, but you can’t go wrong with Rogue. The best leveling and endgame Rogue build has changed to Penetrating Shot and Barrage.
I played Rogue during the Diablo 4 beta, and I found the class to be really fun. I loved experimenting with a hybrid of skills that involved hack and slack, archery, and traps. Rogues have dropped in rank compared to other classes, but that doesn’t mean they are a bad class to play.
5. Druid
In last place are the Druids. There haven’t been too many changes to Druids this season, but that’s the problem. They still are the slowest levels which makes them the hardest for casuals to enjoy, they don’t have any outstanding builds, and there are better classes when it comes to endgame success and survivability.
Druids didn’t get hit with many nerfs and their buffs do help the existing builds pack an even bigger punch. Lightning Storm, the best build available, has gotten even stronger. Besides that, Druids are slow and hard to level, but still retain their decent endgame and survivability.
If you’re looking for the best Druid leveling build, you know we’ve got a guide for that.
What are the best Druid builds in Diablo 4 Season 3?
- Lightning Storm Werewolf
- Pulverize
- Storm Claw
A Druid build that has risen to the top and still stays number one is the Lightning Storm Werewolf build. You can also go with the Pulverize or Shred build since leveling is easier with those builds, but the endgame king is the Lightning Storm Werewolf build.
I played a Druid in Diablo 4 Season 1 and it was a lot of fun. I found that grinding through levels one through ten was much harder than when I played Necromancer, but when I got past that, I started getting powerful and having fun with the Werebear, Werewolf, and Lightning Storm builds.
No matter the class you choose to play, I hope this guide helped you decide what class is best for you and what build you should start working on. Hopefully, you enjoy playing The Gauntlet in Diablo 4 Season 3.
