Look at the local map for Lostwing, which is in Central Sanbreque. You should find a wide open space called Claireview. Where the crosshair is on this map, you’ll find The Angel of Death floating around with her ferocious wings.

Once you get close enough, the fight will begin. Make sure to stock up on any potions you need, as you should for any Hunt. This creature looks and fights similar to Garuda, as she’s a winged wind foe. Now that you know how to find The Angel of Death, let me explain how to beat her in Final Fantasy 16.

Aruna, which is her name, has a few different types of attacks. Either she’ll do some melee claw swings, or she’ll use some unique abilities. Your main goal is to hit her enough to stagger her, which will stun her for a few moments.

One attack has her dash swiftly in a straight line, which you can easily dodge. In a similar attack, you’ll see the direction glowing green before she strikes, so avoid being in that radius.

Another ability Aruna has is an attack where she’ll plant three glowing spots that will quickly explode, which is harder to dodge. If you’re having trouble with the dodge timing, there’s always ‘The Ring of Timely Focus’, which will slow down time and allow Clive to dodge easier before an attack.

Otherwise, I just try to dodge those harsher magic attacks, and once I stagger her, I throw all the Eikon Abilities I have on her. Once you finally beat The Angel of Death, you’re rewarded with 6200 Gil and 10 Renown. Upon dying, Aruna will also drop a Clouded Eye, which is a useful crafting material.
