The world of Diablo 4 is full of dark and macabre things. Every element, from the enemy designs to the dungeon layouts, features a level of grim detail that can get under your skin if you pay attention. In such a world, wearing the trousers once owned by a werewolf-turned-serial-killer is a much less disgusting concept than it would be in real life, and it can even prove to be a good tactical move if you’re running the right Druid build to take advantage of them. These trousers are known as the Manhunters Breeches, and in this guide we’re going to show you how to get your hands (legs?) on them in Diablo 4.
How to slip on the Manhunter’s Breeches in Diablo 4
Step 1: Locate Garbhan Ennai, The Butcher of Cerrigar
The Manhunter’s Breeches are dropped exclusively by the super-unique enemy Garbhan Ennai, the Butcher of Cerrigar. Super-uniques are a distinct class of elite enemy, appearing in one location only, and even then only at specific times of day. Garbhan Ennai can be found in The Downs section of the Scosglen region, specifically the Harrowfields, during the night.
His appearance here is hinted at by a sign in Cerrigar, which is the nearest Waypoint to his location, so if you’re looking to track him down then simply warp to Cerrigar and follow the directions on the map above.
Step 2: Defeat Garbhan Ennai
Once you’ve found Garbhan Ennai, you’ll need to take him on in battle to claim his breeches. As a werewolf, his is a two-stage fight, with him transforming into a lupine form halfway through. At first, he’ll behave like a beefier version of the Executioner enemies you’ll have encountered elsewhere on your quest, and will often perform leaping attacks with his axe that can quickly close the gap between you and him. To avoid damage here, you’ll need to time your dodges just as he leaves the ground for each jump.
In his werewolf form, Ennai actually becomes a bit easier to fight, since he loses his gap-closing potential and becomes more of a normal melee enemy. He doesn’t have a huge amount of health in either form, so any build with focussed damage should be able to end the fight in short order.
Step 3: Enjoy the Manhunter’s Breeches!
Once The Butcher of Cerrigar has had a taste of his own medicine, he’ll drop his trademark Breeches for you to collect. These are Druid-exclusive, which makes sense, given that the most significant boost they offer is 1-2 ranks of the Druid skill Rabies. They also provide a speed-boosting effect for your potions, a small healing boost, and a damage boost after each elite enemy kill as well, but these effects are minor in comparison. If you’re running Rabies in your Druid build, then these Breeches are a great pickup, provided you meet their minimum level requirement of 39.
So there you have it: a full guide on how to get the Manhunter’s Breeches in Diablo 4. While they may not be the most glamorous trousers on the rack, they offer some solid buffs for Druid players, and a nice on-theme look for PVP battles.
