Each season of DMZ brings something new and fresh, so your experience may change every time. One way that Activision keeps you engaged is by having Faction Missions. For Season Three, DMZ introduced the REDACTED Faction which had a bunch of new objectives in the extraction shooter on top of surviving. However, not all of them were easy. If you read the Poisoned Well mission guide, the developer isn’t the best at explaining what to do. Moving on to Season Four, which also has missions, but just like Season Three, some of them aren’t explained well. One that stands out is called Fuel Shortage, which is puzzling players. The game doesn’t describe what you have to do all too well. So, if you’re stuck on this mission, read this guide on how to siphon gas from one vehicle on Ashika Island in DMZ.
DMZ: How to siphon gas from one vehicle on Ashika Island
For this mission, you need to take gas out of at least one car. While this may seem like an easy task to do, you’d assume you’d approach a car, and a prompt comes up to siphon the gas. But, in reality, there seem to be more hoops.
First, the fuel needs to be collected in a canister. This can be done by using gas canisters, and some may already have fuel in them. You can empty it by fueling another vehicle.
The second part is locating and obtaining gas canisters; this is simple to do. All you need to do is head to a gas station located throughout Ashika Island. After you’ve got a gas canister, look for a vehicle to empty. This should be easy to do as they’re many vehicles around gas stations, so pick one.
When you enter the car, bring up your backpack and select the gas canister. Click it, and there should be 3 options to pick from: Refuel, Drop, and Siphon. Of course, click Siphon and wait for the canister to fill. After that, you’ll be done.
Before you siphon a vehicle, make sure the gas canister is empty. It won’t count toward the mission, so empty it doing so.
