Tears of the Kingdom – how to complete Twins Manuscript

You meet brothers Domidak and Prissen outside a cave north of Foothill Stable. There, you get a dog to help you find a treasure. Your discovery prompts the brothers to share text from old manuscripts they found. Those texts tell you where to find Misko’s Treasure. They also introduce a series of side quests, including one called Misko’s Treasure: Twins Manuscript.

According to a riddle: ‘In West Necluda stand twins poised to duel. Each contains a cavern that faces the other. Show the little twin’s sign to the big twin to open the door to my treasure.’

To complete the Twins Manuscript side quest, find the treasure Misko’s riddle references. The one relating to twins must be solved near Dueling Peaks Stable. It’s located to the south of Kakariko Village.

From Eshos Shrine, overlooking the stable, look to the nearby mountains. You will see the ‘Dueling Peaks.’ They are mountain walls rising to either side of the Squabble River. You can reach them most quickly by launching from Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and paragliding east. Both peaks have caves along their sides. Already, you can probably see where this is going. You need to start with a visit to Dueling Peaks North Cave. The above map screenshot shows its precise location.

Dueling Peaks North Cave is the ‘little twin’ referenced by the riddle. Inside, defeat the Horriblin enemies and then check out the ceiling to view a pattern drawn in what looks like chalk. It resembles a pyramid. Take a picture of it if you like, or reference the screenshot at the top of this article.

Next, visit Dueling Peaks South Cave while keeping the cave drawing in mind. Its location may prove tricky to find, but see the map screenshot above for help. Inside, past a slimy Like Like positioned along a wall, you encounter four rows of pressure plates and some rocks. Set rocks on the pressure plates the drawing indicated. See the screenshot below for a look at the puzzle solution. The rocks are lit up with the Ultrahand ability to make their positions easier to see.

Place no rocks in the top row and place a rock on the left plate in the next row. Place a rock on the middle plate in the third row. Finally, place rocks on the second and fourth plates on the bottom row, nearest the chamber’s entrance.

When you place the four rocks properly, a gate opens so you can access a gazebo with a treasure chest. Open the chest to receive the Tingle’s Shirt as your reward. This completes the Twins Manuscript side quest.
