In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll explore every nook and cranny to find weapons, armor, shrines, and side quests. These pursuits are often connected in one way or another. Even a seemingly minor item could have a place of importance. Here is our guide telling you how to get the Forest Dweller’s Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – how to get the Forest Dweller’s Sword
The Forest Dweller’s Sword is a not-terribly-impressive blade that lets you attach bursting materials and use them repeatedly. You need to find it as part of the Walton’s Treasure Hunt side quest, which you receive from Walton after you clear the Trail of the Master Sword main quest.
Once you help the Great Deku Tree as part of that main quest, Korok Village comes to life a bit. Make your way to the very top of the tree, where you find Walton. He proposes a treasure hunt wherein you must find the Forest Dweller’s Sword and Forest Dweller’s Spear.
To get the Forest Dweller’s Sword, simply climb up the bark behind Walton. Walk along the top and you will find the sword protruding. That’s the easiest part of the treasure hunt.
To complete the quest, you need to also find the Forest Dweller’s Spear. It is also located nearby. Check the bark ledge that forms a ring around the grassy area where you meet Walton. The spear rests along the edge, partly hidden by a large limb.
When you hand over the sword and shield, Walton asks you to find one more piece of equipment: the Forest Dweller’s Shield. Drop back down to the lower portion of the Great Deku Tree. Head for the interior area with the shops.
Before you pass through the archway, look above it. You can use the Ultrahand ability to grab the shield and bring it to your level. Then add it to your inventory. Talk to Walton again to complete the side quest. He rewards you with the Forest Dweller’s Bow.
