In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you can make all sorts of amazing recipes. Many of them sound quite delicious. You might see them on the menu at a restaurant and know you have to try them. Then there are those recipes that are the liver and onions of Hyrule. Here’s our guide telling you how to make Monster Soup in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – how to make Monster Soup
Some people like cake, others pie. Some folks like omelets and others skewers. Very few people like Monster Soup, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make it just to say you’ve done it.
To make Monster Soup, combine Monster Extract with Tabantha Wheat, Fresh Milk, and Goat Butter. All of those ingredients have better uses, but they’re yours and you can do with them whatever you like.
You’ll find Fresh Milk and Goat Butter on sale in Hateno Village. Tabantha Wheat is available in Rito Village and on certain hillsides in the wild (see our guide on where to find and farm Tabantha Wheat for more details). As for the Monster Extract, that’s available to purchase in Tarrey Town for 50 rupees.
I’ve not found a use yet for Monster Soup, which restores a quarter of a heart on your meter and doesn’t appear to accomplish anything beyond that. At least its close cousin, the Monster Curry, is definitely useful for an important side quest (you can need it to get a field so you can farm crops).
If you find yourself tempted to whip up a batch of Monster Soup, consider the other soups you might make instead with similar ingredients. If you know how to make Veggie Cream Soup, for instance, that’s the clear winner and requires less investment. But everyone should try most anything once, probably. Maybe that even includes Monster Soup.
