Tears of the Kingdom – how to get the Magic Scepter

The Magic Scepter features an attack rating of seven, which makes it slightly more powerful than the very similar Magic Rod.

To get the Magic Scepter, find it in certain treasure chests. It is not commonly available, but you can acquire one from the treasure chest in Mayahisik Shrine. If you need a second scepter, also check a chest in Rasiwak Shrine.

Mayahisik Shrine is located below the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, in Retsam Forest Cave outside Hateno Village. See the precise location of the shrine in the above screenshot. Robbie walks you through locating the cave that houses the shrine while he is adding the Sensor+ ability to your tablet. This occurs after you have completed his quests at Lookout Landing. The shrine is a Rauru’s Blessing location. You can simply step inside and walk a short distance to the end to claim any prizes.

Rasiwak Shrine waits near the northeast corner of the map. In the Deep Akkala region, head just north from the Akkala Ancient Tech Lab. Descend the steep cliff to reach the beach and find the shrine in plain sight. See its precise location in the above screenshot.  Partway through the shrine, you cross a large body of water using two balls and a slab. Along one side wall, a treasure chest hangs suspended by rope. Shoot it down with an arrow. Then fetch it from the water and open it on solid ground.

It’s possible you may find the Magic Scepter in chests hidden in other shrines. Thus far, I have not done so personally.

In any case, the two locations listed above should be sufficient. After you have acquired the Magic Scepter at least once, you can also purchase it from Bargainer Statues in the Depths. The statues will hand over the Magic Scepter in exchange for 100 Poes. It’s not a bad deal, but you should still try to be careful with any rods you obtain.
