In modern gaming, unifying all fronts seems to be the latest trend, and it’s also benefiting players. The days of playing games on specific platforms with your friends are gone. Plus, being tied down to one platform is all a distant memory. Now, all your stats and everything you earn can come with you. As more and more games go towards this route, many players have been asking if their favorite games will have cross-progression. One of those games is Diablo 4, and for good reason. Read on to see if Diablo 4 will have cross-progression.
Diablo 4: Will there be cross-progression?
Cross-progression is a feature that hasn’t been in the Diablo series and this is because up until the third entry, it was on PC. When Diablo 3 was released on consoles, it only made sense to bring everything together.
Being one of the biggest games coming in the summer, having cross-progression feels natural that players can come together — no matter the platform. However, Blizzard Entertainment has been vocal about the features that are coming in their game. But the most important ones for players are cross-play and cross-progression.
Thankfully in an official blog post, the publisher has been clear that the game will feature cross-play and cross-progression. Now if you want to go to Hell, you don’t have to limit yourself to one platform. Additionally, you’ll be able to take your journey and characters between platforms.
How will cross-play work?
There seems to be no explanation, but if Diablo 4 works like many other games that have this mechanic, it could be simple. You can already link your native profile to your Battle.net account. For example, if you’re playing on an Xbox console, you’d just need to link your Gamer Tag to your Battle.net profile. So when you log into a new platform, the game may have already enabled it.
