How to make Vegetable Risotto in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom boasts a wide array of tasty dishes to get your stomach going. A lot of the recipes are very simple, requiring only one or two common ingredients. And some of them are a bit more complex. Here is our guide on how to make Vegetable Risotto in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – how to make Vegetable Risotto

The chief problem with Vegetable Risotto is that it requires several ingredients without providing a lot of benefit compared to simpler dishes. Sourcing more items for nearly the same impact can be difficult to justify.

To make Vegetable Risotto, combine Hylian Rice, Rock Salt, Goat Butter, and a vegetable of your choosing. The two vegetables I’ve had the best luck with are the Swift Carrot and the Fortified Pumpkin.

When making a lot of recipes, flowers count as a vegetable. That’s not the case with Vegetable Risotto, at least not to the same extent. If you combine rice with salt and butter and a flower, you’re more likely to produce Veggie Rice Balls. This is a disappointing result, since you can produce rice balls with half the ingredients (see our guide on how to make Veggie Rice Balls for more information) and enjoy about the same effect.

A lot of the ingredients for Vegetable Risotto are fairly common, but they’re not necessarily easy to farm. To get Rock Salt, you will typically need to either break apart mineral deposits (which can make you burn through a lot of stone tools) or purchase it at the General Store in Goron City for 12 rupees. If you’re having trouble finding butter, check our guide on how to get and farm Goat Butter.

Personally, I just don’t make a lot of Vegetable Risotto because I feel those resources are better spent elsewhere.
