Where to find Wild Greens in Tears of the Kingdom

It's not easy being Greens.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll wander hills and valleys, searching for shrines to pillage and monsters to slay. Along the way, you’ll also discover rare plants that make your journey easier. Some of them are difficult to locate when you need them most, however. Here is our guide on where to find Wild Greens in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom – where to find Wild Greens

To clear the Gloom-Borne Illness quest, you need Wild Greens. They are one of three ingredients that will allow you to help Lasil make Porridge for her grandmother in Kakariko Village. The older woman is afflicted with a terrible illness.

Unfortunately, there is no single item called the Wild Greens in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Instead, that label refers to a general type of ingredient. For the purposes of the quest, you need Hylian Rice, Fresh Milk (both available to purchase from the General Store in Hateno Village to the northeast) and Wild Greens of a specific sort: Sundelion plants.

Fortunately, Sundelion plants are reasonably common around the various sky islands. Approached head-on, they resemble a star with a black outline. They’re easiest to find at night, when they twinkle to reflect light. You may already have a few of the plant in your inventory from exploring the islands. If you do not, it’s easy to make a trip back to the sky to grab more. You can find several of them growing on Bravery Island, which you may have reached if you read our guide on how to get Glide Tights (also see the map above). Helpfully, you can activate Simosiwak Shrine and fast travel there whenever you need to.

The Sundelion is your best option for Porridge creation, but other plants also count as Wild Greens for more general use. Hyrule Herb plants are another option, and you can find those all over the place. It’s a good habit to gather a bunch of any new plant you find during your wandering, in case you need it for a side quest later down the road.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on the Nintendo Switch.
