Ubisoft: ‘Unannounced projects’ were terminated

After poor financial results forced some cancellations, Ubisoft has moved to reassure people that games like Beyond Good & Evil 2 are safe.
As we reported yesterday, Ubisoft posted a net annual loss of $74 million USD, marking the second year in a row where the company has lost money. In a passage concerning how the publisher aims to get back on track, the ominous line “reorganising the roles and operations of its studios, which has resulted in the termination of certain projects” appeared.
A Ubisoft spokesperson has confirmed that this refers only to “unannounced projects,” so you can hopefully continue to look forward to Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Eric Chahi’s From Dust (formerly Project Dust). Of course, the unannounced projects could’ve been equally as interesting. We’ll just never know.
