Tears Of The Kingdom Ancient Hateno Tech Lab Shrine Sensor

How to get the Shrine Sensor in Tears of the Kingdom

Sensing a shrine nearby.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a bunch of shrines for you to partake in, much like its predecessor, Breath of the Wild. So many in fact, that it might be hard to find them all. That’s where the Shrine Sensor comes in handy, an item that lets you see where nearby shrines are at any point if you’re walking in their general direction. Getting it can be a little tricky, however, so in this guide, we’re going to go over how to get the Shrine Sensor in Tears of the Kingdom.

Getting the Shrine Sensor requires a couple prerequisites. Firstly, you’re going to need to complete the side quest with the title Mystery in the Depths. This is the quest where you unlock Autobuild, so if you’re needing to complete that, you can use our guide.

Upon completion of that quest, head to Robbie in Lookout Landing, who will give you the quest you need to access the Shrine Sensor in Tears of the Kingdom. This quest centers around you going to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab to get some of the prototype features of the Purah Pad.

So you’re going to want to make your way over to the Ancient Hateno Tech Lab, which as the name implies, lies east of the map in Hateno Village. Once you get there you’ll need to meet Robbie in the lab, who’ll then give you the Shrine Sensor in Tears of the Kingdom.

From here you’ll need to do some testing in the lab before you can go wild with it anywhere in the world. You need to walk around until you find the signal of a nearby shrine. Don’t make the mistake that I did by running around, as Robbie wants you to actually walk. So slowly tilt the stick until you get the conversation telling you about finding the shrine for real. The shrine itself is just outside, down the cliff in front of the lab, and then in a cave behind where you come down. It should be easy to find with the newly acquired Shrine Sensor.
