The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom offers many shrines with challenging puzzles. They’re the perfect place for you to use all of those exciting new abilities Link has learned. However, sometimes a solution isn’t obvious, or the approach you think should work falls flat. In those instances, a few tweaks might be just enough to save the day. Here is our guide on how to fly across the big gap in Jirutagumac Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom – how to fly across the big gap in Jirutagumac Shrine
When you first enter the shrine, you should immediately notice a Wing piece sitting on a ledge in front of you. There are a number of high platforms in this shrine, with gaps and ramps between them. The biggest gap is the final one that stands between those platforms and the far end of the chamber. You need to reach that platform.
To fly across the big gap in Jirutagumac Shrine, assemble a flying device that can launch from the ledge and soar against the air gusts. If you try to simply float using your paraglider, you won’t get anywhere. And a Wing device without modifications won’t even launch.
From the shrine entrance, head forward and left to the Wing. Use the Ultrahand ability to position it at the top of a nearby ramp, where there is a trough. This part of the process should be familiar if you know how to use a Wing device to fly. When you set the device near the edge, it will start to slide forward slowly. Hop onto it and ride the Wing over the gap to reach the platform to the left.
Next, drag the Wing up the ramp with you to the top area. There you find a few circular gray pads. Carts appear on them periodically and roll down a ramp. One Cart is stationary. Attach your Wing to that Cart. Then send it flying over the edge of the ramp toward a lower platform. You don’t have to ride it at this point. It should cross the small gap just fine without direction and settle on the far ledge.
Cross to the ledge. There, you find a Fan. Don’t worry about the Fan just yet. Instead, look to the wall. High above you, a platform holds a treasure chest. Position the Wing at an angle near the base. It should extend partway across the gap beneath the high platform and chest. Climb onto the Wing and inch along it. Look up and use the Arise ability to reach the platform. The chest contains a Large Zonaite.
Descend to the main platform. Drag your Wing device to its long runway portion. Then attach the Fan near its back side (so it resembles tail feathers). Stand on your device and strike the fan with your melee weapon. Your vehicle should roll forward and launch from the ledge. Stand near your vehicle’s center and step lightly left or right to steer. Don’t move too far forward, which leads to a nosedive. If you steer properly, you should safely reach the far side of the gap. Then you can claim your blessing and exit the shrine.
