The all-out class war that is Destiny 2 Guardian Games is upon us once again which means the hunt for Medallions is back on.
It is simple enough to earn these as you play through various game modes, but knowing the best way to farm Medallions in Destiny 2 Guardian Games will get your class to the top of the rankings.
What are Medallions in the Destiny 2 Guardian Games?
Medallions can be collected for free by all during Destiny 2 Guardian Games. You earn them by having the Guardian Games 2024 Class Item equipped and completing activities. After talking to Eva and playing through the introductory quest, you will be rewarded with the Class Item. Then, by passively completing challenges, nailing Contender Cards, and completing Bounties, you will earn Medallions.
The Medallions you earn will be ranked from Bronze up to Platinum, depending on how well you do in the challenge. This year, there are also Diamond Medallions which are worth a lot of points. Of course, the higher the Medallion, the better it is for your class. Bank enough Medallions and you will not only earn rewards for yourself but also push your class closer to victory.
How to farm Medallions in the Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2024
The best way I have found to farm Medallion in Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2024 is to combine your efforts. Don’t ignore Event Challenges and Bounties, but if you focus on Eva Levante Contender Cards and Focus Activities, you’ll rack up Medallions in no time. Wear your Guardian Games Class Item to earn Medallions after playing Nightfalls, Supremacy, and Gambit.
Focus Activity
A new feature in Guardian Games 2024 is the Focus Activity. Each day, Nightfall, Supremacy, or Gambit will be the dedicated Focus Activity. This will last for two hours from Monday to Thursday and three hours from Friday to Sunday.
Each day, one class will win the Focus Activity. The class that wins will get the Champions Package which fills your entire Medallion Case to the max. This means that your Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Medallions will be maxed out. It’s tough to win an entire Focus Activity, but each day gives you a chance to try again.
While playing the Focus Activity, you’ll earn Bronze, Silver, or Gold reward packages based on how well you did in the activity. So, even if your class doesn’t win the Focus Activity, you can farm a lot of Medallions fast by playing.
Contender Cards
The tried and true best way to farm Medallions during Guardian Games is to complete Contender Cards. These are the number one way to farm Platinum Medallions in Guardian Games which are the best Medallions just below Diamond.
You can only carry one at a time and there are a lot of Platinum Cards to choose from. I found the best pick to be the Neomuna one. It’s easy to complete if you do the Legendary Breakneck mission and rinse and repeat the first area since placing a Banner is free. I have also noticed that the Raid Efficiency Card isn’t hard to beat if you go to Shuro Chi.
Another straightforward method to quickly get your hands on the coveted Platinum Medallions is by grabbing the Lost Sector Cards and blasting through the legendary areas in minutes. Furthermore, another quick way to rake in the Platinum Medallions in Guardian Games is with the Platnum Vanguard Contender Card. I found I could quickly fulfill the card with only a few run-throughs of Hero Nightfall, but it will take slightly longer than other methods.
You can synergize getting the most Medallions possible by picking the Crucible, Gambit, or Nightfall Contender Card and working toward completing them while trying to win a Focus Activity. That’s the best way to farm Medallions, but you’ll likely want to know how to permanently keep the Allstar Vector Skimmer.
