You probably already know that to even play the newly released Honkai: Star Rail, you will need to log into an account. Of course, a HoYoverse account will easily let you accomplish this. But if you have an account for certain social media sites, namely Facebook and Twitter, you can use those as well. But what if you have a Google Play account and you would rather play Honkai: Star Rail that way? Does the game even allow you to do this?
Fortunately, Honkai: Star Rail does include an option to log in using a Google Play account. The game makes the process of doing this incredibly easy on mobile devices, as that version of the title automatically links the account for you. If you want to experience the game on PC using Google Play, however, you will have to link your account for the service with your HoYoverse account first.
How do I link my Google Play account?
To accomplish this, you first have to head to the options menu, go over to “Account,” and select it. From there, pick the “User Settings” option, at which point you follow the on-screen instructions to link your Google Play account to one of your email addresses. Once you decide on an email address and enter it, you will have to come up with a password. Keep in mind that if you already used Google Play on your phone, you have to enter a different email address when linking the account on your PC.
If you have done all of this correctly, you will have successfully linked your Google Play account on the PC version of Honkai Star Rail. Doing this on PC may be less straightforward than doing it on your phone, but at least it means that those who prefer using their Google Play account on both devices don’t have to face significant restrictions.
