To start this quest, you’re going to want to head to The Pier area. Once you’ve arrived at The Pier location, you need to head to the Lifeguard HQ, which is where you have a base. If you fast travel to The Pier, you should end up here regardless, which is handy. The trader in the hut, Ezekiel, mentions something about a person with the name Dante. Well, you can find Dante running around downstairs as a Crusher. When you kill Dante, it activates the quest Fool’s Gold, as he drops a key to Randy’s Locker.

You can find Randy’s Locker in the Lifeguard HQ area of Dead Island 2, all you need to do is enter the building from the safe area and head all the way to the right to a set of two lockers, one of which is Randy’s. After unlocking the locker, you should have objectives centering around finding Randy and Dante’s meet-up points. These can be a pain to find, but once you know where they are, it’s as simple as can be.

Dante’s burner phone

You can find Dante’s side of the quest at the top end of the pier in Dead Island 2. Before entering onto the pier, you can see a few buildings, and in an alley on the far side of these buildings is where you’ll find Dante’s burner phone.

Randy’s burner phone

Randy’s phone can be located at the end of the pier. You can find this burner phone just past the fuse box location which is at the end of the pier. Run around the building located there and it should be sitting on a bench.

After finding both of these, Dead Island 2 will ask you to find the buried safe. You can find this safe on the right-hand side of the Lifeguard HQ building, if we’re looking at it from the map’s perspective. Furthermore, it’s in the center of a stretch of land surrounded by a wall.

Once you complete this part of the quest, you’ll be asked to kill a bunch of zombies before you can access the safe, but after doing this, you’ll be able to unlock the safe and complete the quest.
