XDefiant Beta: Best SVD Loadout

An automatic choice for marksmen.

XDefiant has enough weapons and maps to keep you busy shooting other players for a good long while, even during its beta. You can modify any weapons you pick up, as well, so that they more closely match your particular style of play. Here is our guide on the best SVD loadout in the XDefiant beta.

The best SVD loadout in the XDefiant beta

Players are likely to quickly settle on a particular weapon they like best, but it would be a mistake to dismiss the SVD too quickly. It may not be your best choice if you prefer to specialize, but the weapon is a solid option if you want to head into battle with options.

The ideal SVD loadout depends on the range at which you like to operate. In general, the SVD is most efficient with its default muzzle and magazine, the recon barrel, a tactical front rail, a heavy rear grip, and the reinforced stock.

If you plan to adopt a run-and-gun style of play, you’ll want the Reflex optics. If you prefer to mix a little sniping with your close quarters combat, which is when the SVD makes the most sense, try working with a bigger scope that allows precision at medium or long range.

It’s worth emphasizing that the SVD is not one of the best weapons to use in the XDefiant beta if you foresee yourself participating almost exclusively in firefights at close range. Arguably, it’s one of the worst options in that scenario. If you have no plans to try out your marksmanship, go with another option instead. If you’re looking for a semi-automatic marksman rifle, however, you’ve found it with the SVD.

Another point in the SVD’s favor is its ability to take out enemies with two shots. That allows it to compete with even assault rifles, and its adaptability makes it our pick for the best marksman rifle in the game.
