Overwatch 2 Season 4 has introduced a new support hero for players to try out, Lifeweaver. Lifeweaver fills a number of niches, with the ability to reposition teammates with his Petal Platform and Life Grip abilities. However, his loaded kit has somewhat complicated his keybinds for many players, leading to some calling him a “clunky” hero to play. Many are calling for Lifeweaver’s abilities to be rebound to different keys, and one player even took it upon themselves to show what that might look like using the Workshop.
Reddit user u/SammyIsSeiso created a special game mode with the Workshop feature to make a version of Lifeweaver with rebound abilities. Currently, Lifeweaver must use a key to swap weapons from damage to healing, similar to a character like Mercy or Torbjorn. However, this new version of Lifeweaver rebinds his healing and damage to left-click and right-click respectively, similar to characters like Kiriko or Moira. The user also moved his Platform Petal to Shift and Rejuvenating Dash to double-jump.
Lifeweaver’s clunky gameplay in Overwatch 2
Some players have pointed out issues with the current iteration of Lifeweaver, questioning why Lifeweaver must swap weapons to deal damage when characters like Kiriko and Moira do not. Some players also pointed out how the weapon-swapping animation is too obscure, with some often forgetting whether they are set to heal or deal damage. These Workshop changes create a more fluid gameplay loop whilst maintaining all of his mechanics in a way that makes sense.
Blizzard has not yet commented on some of the feedback surrounding Lifeweaver’s mechanics. You can try out this new Lifeweaver set-up by visiting the official Reddit post here. Meanwhile, if you haven’t already, you can unlock Lifeweaver to try out in Quick Play by purchasing the Premium Battle Pass or reaching Tier 45 in the free Battle Pass.
