Later on in your time at the castle in Resident Evil 4 remake, Leon will receive a unique request. This side quest asks Leon to deface a painting of Ramón Salazar, one of the antagonists in this horror game. It provides you with a photograph of the room in which the painting resides, but no other clues. If you easily get lost within the large castle, you may have trouble finding this room. Here is a guide to The Disgrace of the Salazar Family request in Resident Evil 4 remake.

How to find the painting of Ramón Salazar
If you analyze the photograph in the request long enough, you’ll eventually notice that it looks a lot like the Throne Room. At Leon’s first contact with this room, you don’t have any agency in where to go and are quickly thrown into the sewers by Salazar’s henchmen. By the time you find your way back, you can make your way to the Throne Room again, which is where the painting will be.
To the wall beside the throne, you’ll find a portrait painting of Ramón Salazar. At first, like I did, you may attempt shooting it, but that’s not how to complete the side quest. The only way that this request wants you to deface this painting is by throwing an egg at it. Luckily enough, there are a few stray chickens walking around the Throne Room.
From time to time, chickens in Resident Evil 4 remake will drop eggs for you to pick up. You can choose to consume them for health or throw them. This time, you’ll want to head into your inventory, select the egg, and equip it. Now aim at the painting, and nail it with the egg.
The request should now be complete, and if you return to The Merchant, he will reward you with four Spinels. This guide to the slightly confusing The Disgrace of the Salazar Family request should hopefully aid your playthrough of Resident Evil 4 remake.
