A few weeks ago, developer Frogwares revealed that it had delayed its Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened remake one final time. The developer relayed this news through an unlisted video that highlighted the challenges of making the game right in the middle of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In the video, Frogwares stated that it expects to release Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened no later than either March or April. As it turns out, the game will come out during the latter month, specifically on April 11. Frogwares put out a new trailer earlier today to prepare players for that date.
Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened release date is paired with a new trailer
The release date trailer provides players with another glimpse into the bizarre Cthulhu shenanigans that Holmes and Watson have to deal with. Notably, the trailer description states that this marks the very first significant case that Holmes and Watson have together, at least in this storyline.
This case involves “an Eldritch god-obsessed cult” that “[makes] moves in the shadows to bring about a world-altering prophecy.” Needless to say, Holmes and Watson will have to think well outside the box to prevent this from happening.
A unique Sherlock tale
According to the trailer description, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened serves as “a creative take on what horror-filled and reality-breaking events could have met our heroes at such a crucial point in their lives to go on and shape them into the characters we all know they become.” This story will take players on a mind-bending journey that brings Holmes and Watson closer together and gives more insight into Holmes’ brilliant, yet troubled mind.
With the release date for Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened arriving relatively soon, players will finally see the results of the hard work that Frogwares has done during such a difficult time. If players preorder the game on Steam or GOG, they will gain access to The Sleuth’s Attire Cosmetic Set.
