Materials in Wild Hearts are the lifeblood of the experience. You spend hours and hours grinding away at bosses to improve your weapons and armor, all for that sweet number to increase even just a little bit. Upgrading weapons and armor in Wild Hearts can be a little time-consuming, but it’s easier when you know what you’re looking for and where to get it. Luckily, Wild Hearts does tell you what you’re looking for, and if you don’t know where to find it, then we’re here to help you out. One of the materials you might need as the game progresses is the Small Kemono Carapace, and here’s where you can get it in Wild Hearts.
Wild Hearts: Small Kemono Carapace creatures and locations
You can find Small Kemono Carapace relatively easily in Wild Hearts. The ways you’re going to be able to get this are by killing two specific Small Kemono known as the Grassghoul Decapod and the Deadleaf Slater. You can find the Grassghoul Decapod in the Natsukodachi Isle region. This Small Kemono looks like a crab, and can be reliably found most of the time in the beach areas of the map where boss Kemono can spawn, from personal experience. You can find the Deadleaf Slater in Akikure Canyon, and it looks like a centipede if it were a plus sign. You’re likely to find these by heading to the east of the Akikure Canyon map in Wild Hearts, where the orange area is.
You can only find this material up to Chapter 3 in the game. If you require it after that, you need to go to Chapter 2.
You can actually use the map to your advantage while hunting Small Kemono in Wild Hearts. There are filters available in the map menu, and you can set it to search only for Small Kemono. Therefore, you can actually use this to hunt for the Kemono you want if you can’t find it naturally in the wild. And that can be difficult for the Deadleaf Slater, as its appearance blends in naturally with the fall-colored leaves of Akikure Canyon.
