How to get the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest – Guide

Sons of the Forest has several tools that you need to obtain if you wish to progress further in its survival sandbox campaign. One of these is the Rebreather, the only item that allows you to dive and navigate underwater areas. You’re going to need it if you want to discover more secrets. Here’s our guide to help you get the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest.

How to get the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest

To get the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest, you’ll have to go to a cave along the coastline. Let’s say you’re at the helicopter crash site and the mountains are to the west. That means there’s a cave further to the south. Make your way there and look for a tunnel opening near the beach. Don’t forget to bring the Flashlight to improve visibility in the dark, too.

In any case, follow the lamps until you see a fork. Take the left-hand side fork and follow it as it loops around. You’ll come across a large chamber with a shark, of all things, swimming in a body of water. Gingerly walk on solid ground until you reach the other side. There, you’ll be able to pick up the Rebreather in Sons of the Forest.

Open your inventory and equip it. Next, let the shark swim further away, then dive down the pool. With the Rebreather, you’ll be able to swim underwater and see your surroundings. Dive deeper and look for another opening. It will lead you back outside, and you’ll resurface a few meters away from the cove.
