It’s interesting, isn’t it, how an indie success like Grimrock will re-open interest in genres that major publishers had been rejecting for years. Whether a turn-based combat, first-person RPG like Might & Magic X Legacy would’ve been considered by Ubisoft prior to Grimrock’s trailblazing is a matter for debate.
Whatever the reality of the situation, Ubisoft is now re-entering this genre. In the end, that gives players more games of this type to choose from, so it’d be churlish to complain too much.
Might & Magic X Legacy will put you in command of a group of four heroes as they seek to untangle the political intrigue around the city of Karthal. Expect turn-based combat and quests aplenty from developers Limbic Entertainment (who self-describe as big Might & Magic fans.)
“Dangerous dungeons, cities and labyrinths full of traps” await at some point in 2013.
