2 million sign up for Call of Duty Elite beta

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

But, they would like some more.
Activision have announced that 2 million players signed up to take part in the Call of Duty Elite beta in less than two weeks.
“When the studio head at Beachhead said this would be a live beta, he was not kidding — your participation really can make a difference in how Elite evolves,” said Dan Amich, Activision’s head of social media. “And don’t be discouraged by the big number, thinking you shouldn’t bother because they already have enough people — two million volunteers among 30 million Call of Duty players is a small amount. More would be even better. Once you’ve signed up, just watch your email inbox for an invite.”
The beta officially kicks off on 14 July, 2011 so there’s still time to sign up if you’re interested. Call of Duty Elite is essentially a fancy stat-tracking system whereby users have access to in-depth leaderboards, match-by-match heat maps, weapon-specific stats, theatre mode filled with user created/uploaded videos and various other bits and bobs for those interested in analysing their performance to tiniest possible degree.
Elite will be accessible via console, web, mobile and a dedicated iOS and Android apps.
It will launch in conjunction with Call of Duty: Modern Warware 3 on 8 November.
