Three new characters come with Resident Evil Village – Winters’ Expansion, and they can only be accessed in the updated version of The Mercenaries, not titled The Mercenaries: Additional Orders. You’ll notice that Chris is unlocked automatically, so you don’t have to do anything to start punching lycans (or boulders?) in the face. But if you want to unlock Heisenberg and Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village – The Mercenaries, read on.
If you’ve played this mode before, you’ll have done a good deal of the prerequisites. But if you haven’t put much time in, you’ll need to play for a bit to unlock them. Regardless, doing so doesn’t take long and is far from difficult.
Resident Evil Village – Winters’ Expansion — How to unlock Heisenberg and Dimitrescu for The Mercenaries
To unlock Heisenberg, you’ll need to beat every normal difficulty stage in The Mercenaries with any character (including the two new stages) and get an A rank. This is very easy to do, and is simply based around getting a high combo by killing enemies and finishing levels quickly. Once you get an A in each, Heisenberg automatically becomes available.
I’d say that Dimitrescu takes less time to unlock in The Mercenaries, but they really take the same amount of effort. All you need to do is get an S rank in the second new mission, The Bloody River. If this sounds like a tall order, rest assured that it isn’t.
The Bloody River has 100 enemies within close proximity to one another for its final stage, so getting a ridiculously high combo is quite easy. As long as you don’t mess up during this part, you’re almost sure to get an S, which will unlock Lady Dimitrescu. Once that’s done, congrats. You’ve unlocked both characters for use in The Mercenaries. As far as I’m concerned, Dimitrescu is easily the most fun character to play as. She makes quick work of anything the mode throws at you. Speaking of throwing things, don’t forget to throw her vanity when her thrill gauge is filled up.
