At the recent Sony PlayStation State of Play event, publisher Bandai Namco unveiled Synduality— an upcoming sci-fi shooter developed by Game Studio coming to PC in 2023. Set in the year 2222, Synduality presents a dystopian future where humans and AI must work together to survive.
In Synduality, a mysterious toxic rain called ‘The Tears of the New Moon’ has wiped out most of humanity. To make matters worse, the rain has also created creatures that are trying to hunt down anyone left. Pushed to desperate measures, humanity retreated underground where it discovered the Magus. A form of artificial intelligence, the Magus hold the key to humanity’s survival.
You play as the Drifters, a group of scavengers living off the land. They rely on finding rare AO crystals that are scattered throughout Earth to make ends meet. Unfortunately, finding the AO crystals isn’t just difficult due to their rarity. The creatures created by The Tears of the New Moon make scavenging an extremely dangerous task.
Work together (or not)
Once Synduality arrives on PC, you’ll be able to try out its signature mech combat. Players pilot mechas called Cradle Coffins that are equipped with a variety of weapon loadouts. These loadouts can be fully customized to suit your playstyle. Customization is a key mechanic in Synduality, with Cradle Coffins also offering a wide range of cosmetic options for players to choose from.
Synduality isn’t just a single-player experience. Bandai Namco‘s sci-fi shooter will also support online multiplayer. In multiplayer, you can team up with friends and your fellow Drifters to work together and bring back loot from the surface. Or, if you’d prefer, you can take down other Drifters and take everything for yourself. Synduality is just as much about PvP as it is PvE, with players having the freedom to play however they want.
