Farming Simulator 19 Looks Amazing in New Comparison Screenshots

This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information

GIANTS Software has released two new screenshots for the upcoming Farming Simulator 19. Both of these screenshots accompany an identical shot from its predecessor Farming Simulator 17. These shots show a pretty big leap in graphical fidelity. Here’s an example of a large Fendt combine harvester doing some field work in the Estancia Lapacho map (click the picture for the full size).

Here’s another comparison screenshot which appears to have been taken in an industrial area:

Both sets of screenshot were taken at the same time of day, from the same position/angle. As you can see, the lighting system has been completely overhauled. The skies look greatly improved, and the sun is far more prominent than ever before. Speaking of the sun, those ray effects look absolutely gorgeous in the second shot. Shadow intensity and quality has been greatly improved too. Pay attention to the crops in the first shot: there are shadows coming off of every clump of grain. That looks really good!

While it’s great to see that so many improvements have been made to the graphics, personally I’m most eager to see how the gameplay mechanics and driving physics have improved. The ‘vanilla’ (unmodded) version of FS17 was rather lacking in that area, so here’s hoping that GIANTS has truly improved more than just the visuals.

Farming Simulator 19 will be rolling onto PC, PS4 and Xbox One in late 2018.
