When I first saw Genesis Alpha One during GDC 2017 I was already impressed. The game was still very much so in its early stages, having most of the art assets in the game still looking like placeholders for what could be expected down the line. Now, the newest trailer for the game reveals what a year’s worth of progress can do for such an ambitious roguelike space adventure.
Much of the trailer revisits what I was shown behind closed doors at GDC 2017. The ship editor is now more fleshed out, clones are talked about it more detail, and the infestations that can occur are fully detailed. Which, when the development team of Radiation Blue talked about the game early on, the team showed how vicious it can be to bring accidental stowaways onto your ship when sending your harvester out to inspect planets.

As the lifeforms overran various ducts in ship bay, it became apparent how sensitive and deep the environments could be. Much more of this is seen in the new trailer above along with how your clones can be created and engineered for various uses on your ship. Clones can be used for exterminating threats, but more importantly, for mining resources and ship maintenance.
Genesis Alpha One is now slated for release on sometime 2018. The game is being developed by Radiation Blue and published by Team17. It has been confirmed that it will be heading to PC via Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
