AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative — Somnium divergence answers

Another way forward

At two points in AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Iniative, the game requires you to answer questions using knowledge gleaned from advancing your way through other routes. Obviously, you’re going to want to do the main story path first, but this guide will tell you how to answer if you’ve simply forgotten or don’t know what you’re supposed to be doing. Technically, both of these will contain spoilers, but they truly don’t mean much out of context. Regardless, I’m going to keep story spoilers to a minimum for anyone who just wants the answers and little else.

The first big divergence is very early on in the game. In Mizuki’s chapter 0, AKA the prologue, she Psyncs with Ryuki. There’s a sequence with the two of them sitting in the interrogation room when the game asks you if you know the identity of the killer. Granted, it’s not actually asking you to give the killer’s real name, but a pseudonym given to you in the two Ryuki route endings. Doing one has the killer identify himself as Dahlia, whereas the other has him state that his name is Boat. When you’re asked to name the killer here, there are two entries to fill out, one with six letters and the other with four.

Simply answer with Dahlia and Boat, which combines to make the full name Dahlia Boat. Doing this will unlock Mizuki’s route and the other half of the game. Granted, even though you can use this to unlock Mizuki’s route almost immediately, the game very much intends for you to have already finished Ryuki’s route, so this isn’t a good idea. You’ll miss out on important plot details that will leave pretty large gaps in your understanding of the narrative.

The same is true for the next divergence you can answer, which is in the Mizuki chapter 3 Psync. At one point, you’ll guide Aiba to interact with a computer that asks you to enter a password. If you’re playing the game normally, again, you can’t know what this is. If you’re stumped and just want to easily look in the game and find it yourself, the word is in quotes in the text summary for the option right before the locked part of Mizuki’s route. Regardless, the answer is “Almighty.” Put that in and you’ll find yourself well on your way to the game’s true ending.

There are other somnium divergences in AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Iniative, but these are mostly clearly delineated by the mental locks in the Pyncs you’re playing. As long as you just do what the game tells you, it’ll be very difficult to mess these up. Also, if you’re not sure where to input the above answers, the Psync connected to them on the flowchart will show routes that you’ve yet to unlock, so you only need to look to these to find the right path forward. Again, if you put these answers in without reaching the point where the game gives them to you, you’re going to hurt the experience for yourself, so be mindful.
