The Sim City beta test will be starting on 25 January and budding city builders can sign-up now.

The application period for the Sim City beta test will close on 21 January so this is the last chancew to sign-up to take part. The first test period will run between 25 -28 January and there are limited slots.

“It is always an exciting moment to share a game that is still in development with its biggest fans prior to launch,” said Lucy Bradshaw, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA’s Maxis Label. “This beta will help the team improve the live service aspects of SimCity to ensure a smooth and user-friendly experience at launch. I want to thank everyone for signing up.

The beta will include a one hour period of play and can be played multiple times. One hour is not really long enough to get a real taste of all the game’s features, but at least it’s a taste, and it should help Maxis iron out any bugs and connectivity issues.
